Teaching Good Manners Through Faith: Musa’s Amazing Day of Good Manners

As Muslim parents, one of our biggest goals is to raise children who not only know good manners, but understand that their actions are part of worship. Every “thank you,” every “Salaam,” and every “Alhamdulillah” is a chance to please Allah. That’s the heart behind Musa’s Amazing Day of Good Manners — a story that follows little Musa through an ordinary day filled with extraordinary lessons.

Why Good Manners Matter in Islam

Our beloved Prophet ﷺ said, “The best among you are those who have the best manners and character.” (Sahih Bukhari)
In Islam, manners aren’t just social skills — they are an expression of faith. When children learn to say salaam, share their toys, or listen respectfully to elders, they are practicing acts that draw them closer to Allah. Through Musa’s simple daily adventures, we wanted to show that adab isn’t learned through lectures — it’s learned through love, modeling, and repetition.

How Parents Can Reinforce the Lessons at Home

Here are a few ways parents can bring Musa’s Amazing Day of Good Manners to life beyond the story:

  1. Use Musa’s Printable “Etiquette Adventure Book.”
We’ve created the same adventure book that Musa follows in the story — now available as a printable!
Your child can check off each good deed and duaa as they practice it, and the final page includes space to add new manners and duas together as a family.

  2. Connect manners to Allah, not just to behavior.
Instead of saying “That’s nice” or “Be polite,” try saying:
“Allah loves when we speak kindly.”
“You just earned reward for helping Grandma!”
It helps your child link manners with purpose, not performance.
  3. Practice daily duaas together.
Use everyday moments — sneezing, eating, leaving the house — to gently remind your child of the appropriate duaa. Over time, it becomes second nature.

  4. Model what you want to see.
Children watch more than they listen. The way we say “Bismillah” before eating or “JazakAllahu Khairan” to others leaves a deeper imprint than a hundred reminders.

Turning Islamic Values into Daily Habits

The goal isn’t perfection — it’s consistency. When kids see that faith touches every part of their lives, they start to develop a beautiful awareness of Allah in their hearts. That’s why Musa’s Etiquette Adventure focuses on small, achievable actions. Each one is a gentle reminder that our deen is lived through kindness, respect, and gratitude. Let’s help our little ones fall in love with the beautiful manners our Prophet ﷺ taught — one small action at a time.
